QUESTIONS....ANSWERED..

I started performing magic to the public quite late on in life (in my mid 30's),although i practised the art every day and attended magic clubs for many years...i guess i wasn't brave enough to get up in front of an audience until one day in december 2003.
It was at my sons pre school christmas party and the booked magician failed to make an appearence....and my partner shouted across the room ''nows your chance !''.
I went home, gathered up all my magic effects and very nervously put together a show within minutes......lots of fumbles and mistakes happened that day but i knew that this is what i wanted to do.....and here i am.
Why is my charge rates cheaper than the other entertainers ?
I have a full time job and if life was that simple i would have magic as my full time job,but with the state of the country being in a reccession, money is very precious to us all and certain luxuries have to suffer...the public see entertainers as an un-nessersary luxury and bookings become less and less....my charge is aimed at families like my own who have suffered through this financial credit crunch....i just want to put a little fun back into life and offer the lowest rates.
The rates are also low because i am a local entertainer and dont need to add on travel expences as much as i would if i was travling to london or cambridge....my charge does not reflect on how good i am as some customers have asked.
I am professional in every way and my entertainment standards are 100% top quality.
I have been into magic since i was a very young boy and have practiced the art as a hobby religiously...i joined a magic club and learned some amazing magic from the professional magicians and gained lots of respect for taking the art seriously.
I entered lots of compititions in my early days and have spent hundreds of pounds on magic effects, books, videos and dvds.
My shows are practiced and expertly put together and have taken years to get the right balance to bring the very best to audiences.
I have realized that being an entertainer is a lot harder than just being a performer....it's also about selling yourself.....trying to get your name and profession noticed...to get the public to trust that you do exactly what it says on the card or web site.....lots of money is also spent on advertisement (cards....phone calls....magazine and news paper ads....directories..web sites...c.r.b checks....public liability)
So....to be an entertainer costs stacks of money...so give a little thought that we dont just turn up with a cheap deck of cards...a piece of string and a hanky.....we give you top quality in every way, having spent hundreds if not thousands of pounds just to entertain you....we take this art very seriously and i hope you do us too.
